Hot pressing
Hot pressing is an advanced manufacturing process in which the resin in the product polymerizes under high pressure and temperature. This process often uses materials where the fibers are pre-impregnated with resins, known as prepregs. These prepregs are placed in a mould and then subjected to high pressure and temperature, causing the resin to melt and fully impregnate the fibers. After cooling, this results in a strong and durable composite product.
This process is particularly suitable for quickly producing (flat) products, often within a few minutes. It is an efficient method that consistently delivers high quality, especially for products that require a high visual standard.
Advantages of Hot Pressing
Suitable for both solid laminates and sandwich panels
Hot pressing can be used to produce both solid laminates and sandwich panels, making it versatile for different applications.
Applicable to different fibers and thicknesses
The process can be adapted to various types of fibers and thicknesses, starting from 0.2 mm. This offers flexibility in the design and production of diverse products.
High visual surface quality
Products manufactured using hot pressing often have excellent surface quality, available in both matte and gloss finishes, and meet S2 surface quality standards.
High production capacity
Hot pressing is suitable for large-scale production, making it ideal for manufacturing large quantities of products in a short time.
Low costs
Due to the efficiency of the process and the minimal post-processing required, production costs remain low.
Suitable for small to large surfaces
The process can be applied to both small surfaces (5 x 5 cm) and large surfaces (1 x 3 meters), making it suitable for a wide range of product sizes.
